Eight people were killed on their way back from a wedding ceremony after their boat capsized in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities confirmed Monday evening.
Rescuers have recovered the bodies of all the victims, aged between five to 66, as of Monday afternoon after continuous searching efforts.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, when the fishing boat from Benjie village of Puding County, Anshun City capsized in the Yelang Lake.
Those on the boat were all local villagers on their way back home after attending a wedding ceremony in a neighboring village.
The man-made Yelang Lake, which covers 21 square kilometers, isa famous scenic site in Guizhou.
The local government was investigating the accident and working on compensation policies.
