The Macao Customs Service has confiscated 280 counterfeit Nokia
products, local media reported Tuesday.
The Macao Post Daily quoted customs sources as saying
that the contraband items included six mobile phones, 48 battery
chargers, 73 earphones, 28 Bluetooth earphones and 32 skins for
mobile phones.
The fake products valued 80,000 patacas (US$10,000) in market,
the sources were cited by the newspaper.
Six suspects have been taken in for questioning in the wake of
the raids conducted by customs personnel on three shops last week,
the newspaper said.
The case has been transferred to the region's Public Prosecution
for further investigations and possible laying of charges related
to intellectual property rights violations.
