One worker was killed and six others injured after a chemical
tank blasted in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, on Sunday.
The explosion took place at 1:50 PM at the Dingshan Fine
Chemicals Factory. Fire fighters rushed to the site to put out the
ensuing fire.
The six injured workers are hospitalized and are currently in
stable condition, factory officials said.
The blast of the isobutene tank did not cause pollution to the
environment, said Cong Yuezi, head of the city's work safety
bureau.
Investigation into the cause of the blast is under way.
