Man Jailed for Trafficking Heroin in Hollow-out Peach

A Chinese man has been sentenced 15 years in prison for trafficking heroin hidden in a hollowed-out peach.

The Shanghai railway transportation court heard on Wednesday that 46-year-old Zhou Jianguo dug out the inside of a peach, stuffed it with 50 grams of heroin, and boarded a train from Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, to Shanghai.

Zhou put the peach into a bag of fruit before and boarding the train on Oct. 22, 2006.

Seeing patrolling policemen on the train, he clutched the bag and scurried towards a neighboring carriage, only raise police suspicions.

Police also found four grams of heroin in a lunchbox he was carrying.

Last week, Shanghai railway police seized 400 grams of heroin from two women passengers who hid the drug inside their bras.
