Four drug traffickers were executed on Tuesday in Yulin, a city
in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Chen Lizhen was one of four people convicted of trafficking 65
kilograms of heroin from neighboring Yunnan Province, the regional higher people's
court was told. Yunnan borders the "Golden Triangle", one of the
world's biggest drug-producing areas.
Thirteen others in the family drug trafficking ring received
sentences ranging from death with two years reprieve to two years
imprisonment, according to the court.
Thirteen of the defendants are relatives. They are couples,
brothers or sisters, said the court.
Police cracked the case in March 2004.
