A 10-year-old boy has been killed in a second vicious traffic
accident, days after a Sichuan driver was arrested on suspicion of
deliberately killing a 3-year-old boy.
A truck knocked a woman and her son down after it turned left
onto a road on Saturday afternoon in Chengdu, the capital city of
southwestern China's Sichuan Province.
After the driver ran the pair over, the woman was lying between
the wheels while her son was wedged in front of a back wheel. The
driver did not get out of his vehicle but reversed the truck.
Witnesses say they thought the driver was trying to release the boy
until he unexpectedly started to drive forward.

The local official website newssc.org reports the accident
killed the boy and seriously injured the woman, who is receiving
treatment at a local hospital.
Witnesses say the woman was riding an electric bicycle with the
boy as a passenger when the accident occurred. They were not
seriously injured after the initial impact, but the driver killed
the boy and injured the woman when he drove forward.
Police have arrested the driver and an investigation is
underway.
On Wednesday afternoon, a 3-year-old boy called Liu Xingzhi was
killed after a driver knocked him down, then reversed the car over
his prone body in Dujiangyan city in the province.
