LONDON, July 25 (Xinhua) -- China has opened its Olympic reception center, China House, in London on Wednesday as channel for the Olympic cultural communication between China and the world.

The China House, a 600-square-meter hall within the Waldorf Hilton, will offer helps to the athletes and coaches, journalists, and members of Chinese sports delegation during the Games and will also serve as a window for the world to know about China.

"It's a home of friendship and hospitality and it's home for everyone," said Liu Peng, president of China Olympic Committee.

Decorated with huge pictures of Chinese Olympic champions such as 110-meter huddler Liu Xiang and badminton shuttler Lin Dan and red-color exhibition boards and lanterns, the venue welcomes visitors with an immediate strong Chinese flavor.

"We will greet the friends of all the Olympic families here in our own manner. It's a great window as well as a platform to show development of Olympic movement in China and it's also a place of friendship and good feelings," he said.

Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to the UK, expressed expectations on the center to promote the exchanges between the two ancient great civilizations.

"The two coutries have a lot to share. With no doubt, China House will become the best platform to promote Sino-UK exchanges and Olympic culture," said the ambassador.

The center, first of its kind for summer Olympic Games, will operate till August 12, where in addition to various themed events, exhibitions will be also held to mark the 40th anniversary of Sino-UK relations, the achievements of Chinese Athletes on previous Games and the promotions of Olympic movement in China.
