HK, Macao political advisors to focus on economy, environment

Political advisors from Hong Kong and Macao said on Tuesday they would discuss how to maintain economic momentum and the prevention of water pollution at the top political advisory body's annual session.
Shi Zhanxiong, a political advisor from Hong Kong said he would focus on ways to keep the city's economic traits and competitive power as cities in south China are catching up with Hong Kong.
Shi was among a 50-member delegation from Hong Kong who arrived in Beijing Tuesday afternoon to attend the annual session of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which would open on Wednesday.
Lu Yaodong, vice chairman of the K.Wah Group said he was interested in what plans the government would lay out to support the domestic powerful brands in the service sector amid the nation's drive to stimulate domestic demand.
Li Guoqiang, another political advisor from Hong Kong noted he would put forward a proposal to set up a joint working group on the prevention of water pollution in the Pearl River Delta.
Leonel Alberto Alves, a Macao legislator of the SAR's Legislative Assembly and also a member of the CPPCC National Committee, said he was most concerned about the employment situation in Macao, and would propose more mainland residents fill the job vacancies in education and law sectors in Macao.
