Four Chinese prominent Tibetologists on Wednesday condemned the March 14 Lhasa riot and voiced support for the government's efforts in restoring law and order.
"We strongly condemn any person who organized, premeditated, incited and participated in the riot," Prof. Lhagpa Phuntshogs, general director of China Tibetology Research Center (CTRC), said at a press conference organized by China's State Council Information Office.
Lhagpa Phuntshogs said researchers on Tibet felt furious and distressed for the riot that broke out in Lhasa on March 14.
"We fully support any proper measures took by the Chinese governments at all levels to maintain the social order of Tibet," he said.
The other three Tibetologists at the press conference are Prof. Dramdul, director of Institute of Religion Studies with CTRC, Prof. Lian Xiangmin, director of Researching Projects Office with CTRC and Prof. Tanzen Lhundrup, deputy director of Institute of Social and Economic Studies with CTRC.
