A draft law on servicepeople's insurance exempts those serving in the country's armed forces from paying premiums for their death and injury insurance and provides that premiums will be covered by the state.
Unemployed spouses of servicepeople who follow their husbands or wives to where they fulfill military services should pay insurance premiums themselves, but the government will partially subsidize these premiums, according to the draft law.
The draft law was submitted on Tuesday to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, for its second reading.
