China's top discipline body has urged provincial officials to develop plans to deal with corrupt officials who flee, People's Daily reported on Thursday.
Gan Yisheng, deputy head of China's Central Commission of Discipline Inspection of the CPC, held a meeting in Beijing with representatives from ten provinces and municipalities to address the problem.
He said governments should face the reality and strengthen international cooperation in handling cases.
The move is intended to show the central government's determination to prevent officials from fleeing to foreign countries and a resolve to bring back corrupt officials to face justice.
