Wang Yi, director of the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office, will visit the United States from July 27 to 30, his office said Tuesday in a statement.

Wang, also director of the Communist Party of China Central Committee's Taiwan Work Office, will meet with American officials from the White House and the State Department as well as the U.S. congressmen.

He will also hold talks with scholars from American think tanks, and meet with Taiwan compatriots living in the United States, the statement said.
