The number of wealthy families in China whose assets reach US$1 million exceeded one million last year, ranking the third in the world, after the US and Japan, according to Boston Consulting Group's recent report, the Beijing News reported.
In 2009, the figure was 850,000, while in 2005, 410,000. The BCS statistics only count families whose investable assets reach one million US dollars.
