Four people from the Republic of Korea, who were injured in a car accident in Shanghai, are receiving medical treatment in two local hospitals, local hospital sources said.

Three of the four were sent to the Changhai Hospital, and two of them were arranged into an ICU (intensive care unit) with bone fractures in the head. One of the two in ICU fell in coma and has remained in critical condition. The other has regained consciousness.

The third one, who was slightly injured, has been transferred to ordinary ward.

The remaining one out of the four Koreans was sent to the No. 9 People's Hospital of Shanghai, who is now in stable condition.

The accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when a business-purpose vehicle (BPV) bumped into the rear of a container truck on the East Sea Bridge of Shanghai. The driver of the BPV died on the scene, and four Korean passengers aboard were injured.
