Five people were killed and another 10 injured after a motor tricycle overturned in northwest China's Shaanxi Province Wednesday, local police said.

The accident occurred at abut 12:40 p.m. in Cuifeng Township of Zhouzhi County as the farm-use vehicle with 15 aboard overturned due to brake failure on a downward slope.

Four passengers died at the scene and one died later at hospital. The other 10 suffered no life-threatening injuries.

Initial police investigation blamed overloading for the fatal accident.
