The first Asia-Pacific private university rector's forum was held in the Macao University of Science and Technology on Monday.
It is aimed at building up a strategic alliance, increasing opportunities of exchange, and seeking academic cooperation that will contribute to inquiring into the developmental problems commonly faced by all private universities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The two-day forum, which gathers about twenty leaders of private universities in the Asia-Pacific area, will discuss the orientations and missions of private universities in the knowledge-based economy era, promote the development of private universities, and focus on common issues faced by private universities in the region.
The forum is co-organized by the Fu Jen Catholic University (from Taiwan), Keimyung University (from Korea), Macao University of Science and Technology, and Tung Hai University (from Taiwan).
