A coal mine collapse has left two people dead and two injured in east China's Shandong Province, local authorities said Wednesday.
A pit in a mine in Taian City caved in at 10:45 p.m. Monday when four work safety supervisors were inspecting production facilities underground, said officials with Shandong's mine safety supervision administration.
The four were hit by falling debris and were immediately taken to hospital. Two died early Wednesday and the other two were both stable, doctors said.
The mine was undergoing business restructuring and was licensed.
