Society looks at prisoners and thinks they don't deserve to have treatment because they have behaved badly. But prisoners are human beings and access to treatment is a human right. With MSF we provide ARV treatment, counselling and basic medical care in two Bangkok prisons. We also organise MSM and PHA networks to encourage people to look after themselves and each other. My job is to provide education about HIV prevention and treatment. In particular I am responsible for training key figures within prison MSM and PHA networks who can then provide more ongoing support to their fellow prisoners. [©Ton/MSF] |
