At least five people were killed after a tornado hit northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Saturday, local authority said.
The tornado pounded seven townships of Suihua City, about 120 km from Harbin, the provincial capital, at about 5 p.m., leaving five people dead, according to an official of Suihua's emergency response office.
Another two counties under the Suihua City were hit by strong wind and hailstorms at about 5:00 p.m. Saturday. No casualties have been reported so far.
Calls to the city's emergency response office ran unanswered Saturday night.
