Li Tangtang, former vice chairman of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, has been stripped of his official post and membership in the Communist Party of China (CPC) for corruption.
Xinhua learned from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Sunday that Li, accused of "severely violating the discipline," has been referred for prosecution. His illegal gains were also confiscated.
Investigation found Li had taken huge sums of bribes, abused the power to facilitate benefits for his relatives' business activities, while leading a corrupted life when he worked in government in northwestern province of Shaanxi.
