A senior official with the Civil Aviation Administration has been dismissed from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and his public office for "serious violations of discipline and laws," China's disciplinary departments said Friday.
Yu Renlu, former vice head of the Civil Aviation Administration and member of its Party leadership, has been under investigation for alleged "serious violations of discipline and laws," according to a statement jointly issued by the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the Ministry of Supervision.
Yu was found using his position to seek benefits for other people in return for a "large sum" of bribes, the statement said, without giving an exact figure.
The CPC Central Committee and the State Council approved the penalties to Yu according to the CPC's supervisory disciplinary regulations and the country's Law on Public Servants, the statement said.
His illegal gains would be confiscated and his case has been referred for prosecution, it said.
