China was ready to enhance cooperation with Switzerland on anti-terrorism, transnational crime, illegal immigration and personnel training, said China's Public Security Minister Meng Jianzhu here on Monday.

Meng made the remarks in a meeting with Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, head of Federal Department of Justice and Police of Federal Council of Switzerland.

Meng, also a state councilor, spoke highly of the cooperation between both countries' public security and judicial police departments in recent years.

He hoped the police and law enforcement departments of both countries would strengthen substantial cooperation in such areas as information exchanges, assistance in case investigation, obtaining evidence from investigation and arresting fugitives.

Widmer-Schlumpf agreed with Meng's suggestions, saying Switzerland was willing to push forward the cooperation between the two law enforcement departments in an in-depth, practical and efficient manner.
