A local maritime court official was sacked Thursday in south China's Guangdong Province for overseas travel at public cost, local authority said.
Luo Guohua, head of Guangzhou Municipal Maritime Court, was sacked Thursday on the 23rd session of the Standing Committee of the 13th Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress.
Luo was disclosed in June on the Internet that he had spent 480,000 yuan (70,278 US dollars) with five court staff at a 12-day investigation trip in South Africa, Eygpt and Turkey early this year. The investigation report they turned in was a fabricated one from the Internet. The same travel routes cost only 20,000 for each person from the quoted price of the local travel agencies.
