A 60-year-old male patient who tested positive for Influenza A/H1N1 died in Hong Kong Thursday, bringing to 29 the death toll of the disease in the city, Hong Kong's Hospital Authority announced.
The 60-year-old man was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on Oct. 6, said the Hospital Authority in a statement.
The patient had terminal lung cancer and his condition was serious upon admission, requiring oxygen therapy and antibiotics. His condition deteriorated further and he finally succumbed at 9:58 p.m. on Tuesday.
Positive result of Influenza A/H1N1 was confirmed after his death.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Center for Health Protection.
