Former Taiwan leader back to jail from hospital
Adjust font size:

Former Taiwan leader, Chen Shui-bian, has been sent back to the Taipei detention center Wednesday after three days of treatment in a hospital.

Chen accepted glucose and saline injections in the Taipei County Hospital to stabilize his deteriorating condition due to his refusal to eat.

His physical condition was better, doctors said.

Also on Wednesday, Taiwan prosecutors questioned Chen's wife, Wu Shu-chen, at their home in downtown Taipei.

It's the second home interrogation for Wu since Chen's detention for alleged involvement in overseas money laundering and corruption.

Chen refused to eat since being detained last Wednesday. He was sent to a nearby hospital for a medical checkup on Sunday night and was transferred to the Taipei County Hospital the next day after suffering from an irregular heartbeat.
