A publicity campaign is being launched in Hong Kong to promote a
greener lifestyle, Hong Kong Secretary for Environment Edward Yau
said Thursday.
The programs include new TV and radio announcements in the
public interest (API), a dedicated website, roving exhibitions,
roadshows and an advertising campaign, he said.
Four other APIs will address four basic necessities of life -
dressing, eating, living and commuting.
According to Yau, copies of CDs, containing the computer game
and information of green initiatives, will be distributed to
schools, youth centers, elderly centers and district offices. It
will also be uploaded on the dedicated online game website.
Other programs include exhibitions and road shows, distribution
of e-posters to schools and other organizations for promoting the
green message, and educational activities funded by the Environment
and Conservation Fund.
Yau said he will continue to discuss more long-term
collaborations, such as encouraging District Councils and
non-governmental organizations to incorporate the message of "green
lifestyle" into their World Environment Day 2008 activities.
