Dazhao is located in Dazhao Qianjie, Yuquan District of Hohhot.
Built originally in the6th year of the reign of Emperor Wanli
of the Ming Dynasty (1578), it is a temple built by Tumete Tribal
Chief Alehan inorderto celebrate his conversion to Buddhism.
Dazhao is the first Gelugpa Buddhismmonastery built in Inner
Mongolia. Its grand scale and beautiful relics havemade it one of
the most renowned temples in Mongolian grassland. It is a key
protected relic of the Inner MongoliaAutonomous Region.
