Chinese shares open lower on Tuesday

Chinese equities opened lower on Tuesday morning with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index sliding 0.7 percent, or 18.58 points, to open at 2,649.17.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.15 percent, or 122.05 points, to open at 10,463.04.
