Chinese shares edge down 0.24%

Chinese equities lost 0.24 percent Thursday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index nudged down 0.24 percent, or 5.15 points to 2,133.88. The Shenzhen Component Index was down 0.1 percent, or 8 points to 7,933.51.

Losses outnumbered gains by 446 to 409 in Shanghai and 363 to 357 in Shenzhen.

Combined turnover on the two bourses stood at 108.3 billion yuan (US$15.84 billion), shrinking from the 134.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
