Dollar changes hand at lower 97 yen level

The US dollar changed hands at the lower 97 yen level early Tuesday in Tokyo, down from the mid-97 yen range in New York overnight.

At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 97.06-09 yen against 97.42-52 yen in New York and 97.24-27 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.

The euro traded at 1.2560-2565 dollars and 121.95-122.00 yen compared with 1.2571-2581 dollars and 122.58-68 yen in New York and 1.2594-2597 dollars and 122.49-53 yen in Tokyo late Monday.
