Chinese shares opened slightly lower

Chinese shares opened slightly lower on February 5 after three consecutive upward openings after the Spring Festival holidays.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, opened at 2,106.83, down 0.92 points or 0.04 percent.

The smaller Shenzhen index moved down 0.12 percent, or 8.96 points, to open at 7,468.67 points.
