Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan said Japan will open up its doors once again in new ways at the APEC CEO summit in Yokohama on Saturday.
The prosperity of Japan is connected with the world and the nation has to grow with the fast developing economies in the Asia Pacific, he said.
Japan is aiming toward high level partnerships with other countries, Kan said, adding the nation will liberalize its trade and is proceeding with agriculture improvement.
Japanese agriculture suffers from the aging of farmers. "Young people have to be engaged in Japanese agriculture so that we can export high quality agricultural produce to elsewhere in the world, " he said.
Japan will accelerate its work needed domestically concerning Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), said the Japanese prime minister. The TPP was initiated as a free trade agreement among economies including New Zealand and Singapore to promote region-wide economic cooperation.
Kan added that Japan is seeking excellent skills, knowledge and investment from the rest of the world and will enhance its business environment.
