China will exceed the United States in 2025 or earlier to become the world's largest economy, according to the latest report issued by PricewaterhouseCoopers yesterday, which provides industry-focused briefings, tax and advisory services.
"The core of the global economy has shifted to China, India and some new emerging large economies. The transfer will last for quite a long time. China will surpass the United States economically by 2025, which will make the Asian giant the world's No.1 economic power. China will maintain sustained growth and it will be 1.3 times as big as the American economy by 2050," said a manager from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
China's continuous rapid growth is attributed to technological development, which is expected to fuel the increase in the coming 10 to 15 years.
