Recently, 160 US multinational companies, including Microsoft,
Wal-Mart and Citibank and some industry associations, sent a letter
to the US Congress to ask them not to enact any trade sanctions
against China.
The letter pointed out that in order to promote the US's best
interests the government needed to lift overseas trade barriers and
sharpen the US's competitive edge. Moreover, it would not make any
sense to require a certain country to take sole responsibility for
the US's various problems. This requirement should be dropped.
