Credit Suisse: China Unicom Likely to Sell CDMA Network to China Telecom
Adjust font size:

Credit Suisse Group, a leading global financial services provider, said in its August 14 research report that China Unicom is likely to sell its CDMA network to China Telecom at a price of US$14.6 billion.

Credit Suisse also says that senior managers from China Unicom and China Telecom have been negotiating but they have not reached an agreement concerning price. Most investment banks valued the CDMA network at 60 billion yuan, or about US$8 billion. The CDMA network has realized overall profits for the first time causing Credit Suisse experts to consider a revaluation of the CDMA network's subscriber resources.

Neither China Unicom nor China Telecom has responded to Credit Suisse's comment.
