Chrysler Group (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and Southeast Motor
cannot reach agreement on profit splitting; therefore, Dodge
Caravan, which, according to the original schedule should debut
this October, must come to market at a later date. The two sides
are still negotiating, and Dodge Caravan's new debut date will be
decided after an agreement is reached. So far, neither Chrysler
China nor Southeast Motor has admitted that there is any problem
with their cooperation.
It is said that Southeast Motor has stopped all the preparation
work for production of Dodge Caravans. According to Southeast
Motor, it started the preproduction work in December 2006 and plans
to begin mass production of the car in this August for an October
marketing campaign. However, at the crucial moment of preparation,
the production sector of Southeast Motor received the order to stop
work.
