China's Mobile, Unicom fight for control of iPhone business

China Mobile has reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone 4 by the end of October this year, and China Unicom is expected to sell Apple's fifth-generation iPhone, AppleInsider reported.

China Mobile has reached an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone 4 by the end of October this year, and China Unicom is expected to sell Apple's fifth-generation iPhone, AppleInsider reported. 


China Mobile and China Unicom, two of the world's largest mobile carriers, have appealed to the country's state-owned enterprise regulator, each claiming the other firm is trying to obstruct its iPhone business, Sina.com reported Friday.

China Mobile said Unicom had hampered its efforts to launch the iPhone. Unicom earlier claimed China Mobile had intentionally tempted iPhone users on China Unicom's network to switch to China Mobile before inking a deal with Apple.
