The Ministry of Commerce's website Wednesday disclosed three trade remedies imposed by the European Union (EU) against China. The new guidelines aroused strong reactions in the domestic market, National Business Daily reported Thursday.
According to the website, the EU announced May 13 it will impose anti-dumping duties on imported melamine from China. It levies a fixed tax of 415 euro ($590.34) on every ton of melamine.
The EU also announced Wednesday plans to initiate an anti-circumvention investigation in molybdenum wires produced in China. Meanwhile, the EU imposed anti-dumping and anti-circumvention rules on plastic bags originally produced in China and Thailand.
According to the report, industry insiders said the imposed trade remedies were a sign that the EU is once again provoking trade disputes with China.
