The government plans to move some steel plants located in inland areas to coastal areas and along the Yangtze River during the next five years, said Luo Tiejun, a senior official of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Saturday.

By changing the locations of the plants, China can shorten the distance between steel factories and markets.
