Chinese shares close lower at midday Wednesday

China's stocks closed lower in the morning trading session Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent to 2,924.34.

The Shenzhen Component Index ended at 12,921.58, down 0.04 percent, at midday.
