According to an insider from Handseeing Information Technology Co., Ltd., Apple Inc. prepares to invest US$150 billion to purchase the company. Because other companies have also showed interest, the acquisition hasn't been decided yet, the Economic Observer News reported.

This will be the first acquisition for Apple in China if everything goes well. Apple has started to set eyes on the Chinese market, which was once neglected by the company.

The source said that in fact, Apple's acquisition of Handseeing has entered the stage of operation. The two companies are in talks of the final price, on the basis of Apple's US$150 billion bidding price.

The Chengdu-based Handseeing, with Sun Microsystems, jointly set up "SUN RIA Laboratory of Advanced Technology Development Platform" in early 2009, which is the first technology company founded by one of the world's top 500 enterprises aiming at the web entertainment industry in China.

China's business press carried the story above on Thursday. China.org.cn has not checked the stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
