According to the deal, which was signed in Kondor SA Beijing headquarters, the Chinese company will import olive oil (Eleourgiki) and wine brands Achaia Clauss and Katogi-Strofilia Averoff.
Kondor SA Beijing is the Chinese branch of one of Greece’s biggest food and drinks distribution companies, Kondor SA. Recently the branch office has inked a series of trade deals with Chinese importers and distributors to the main Chinese supermarket chains, resulting in a plethora of Greek products being introduced to the Chinese market such as Greek feta cheese and yellow cheese, yoghurt, wine, olive oil, mineral water, juices, snacks and spirits such as tsipouro and ouzo. Furthermore, in a short period the company plans to introduce to the Chinese customers Greek croissant.
The CEO of Daysun Express, Peter Zhu, is enthusiastic about this partnership, which will grant him the right to import and distribute by priority fine Greek olive oil and wine in the Chinese market.
Moreover, Mr Zhu is planning to write and publish a book in Chinese about the Greek wines and winemakeries, the first of its kind in China. Mr Zhu declares himself to be an “admirer of Hellenic culture and wines”, acknowledging the fact that it was the ancient Greeks who first discovered a systematic wine production method.
