The gross domestic product (GDP) of China in the first half of 2010 reached 17.284 trillion yuan (US$2.55 trillion), a year-on-year increase of 11.1 percent, which was 3.7 percentage points higher than a year earlier, Sheng Laiyun, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) spokesman said Thursday.
The value added of the primary industry was 1,336.7 billion yuan, up by 3.6 percent; that of the secondary industry was 8,583.0 billion yuan, up by 13.2 percent; and that of the tertiary industry was 7,364.3 billion yuan, up by 9.6 percent.
