Chinese shares declined for the sixth straight trading day Wednesday after plummeting to a 14-month low Tuesday.
The Shanghai Composite Index was down 28.68 points, or 1.18 percent, at 2,398.37 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.28 percent, or 121.97 points, to close at 9,386.94 points.
Total turnover was 56.48 billion yuan (8.3 billion U.S. dollars), a drastic decrease compared to 136.68 billion yuan the previous trading day.
Losers outnumbered gainers by 749 to 122 in Shanghai and 823 to 140 in Shenzhen.
