Chinese shares open lower on Monday

Chinese equities fell sharply at Monday opening with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.21 percent, to open at 2,663.88 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.57 percent to 10,168.15 points at opening.
