China stocks climb at midday Thursday

Chinese shares rose at midday Thursday, stopping a continuous drop in the previous five trading days.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.23 percent to close at 2,906.93 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.23 percent to 11,360.11 points.
