Jiangxi Copper Co., Ltd, China's biggest copper producer, said its first quarter profit rose 360 percent to hit 697million yuan (102 million U.S. dollars) in a statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange Thursday.
The company attributed the increase to booming sales and higher prices for its major products.
Business revenue in the first three months totaled at 15.9 billion yuan, up 60.91 percent over the same time last year, and earnings per share stood at 0.23 yuan, according to the company.
The company's share price gained 1.31 percent to end at 36.25 yuan in the morning secession in Shanghai.
