Chinese shares open slightly higher Tuesday

Chinese equities opened higher Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.4 percent to open at 3,170.61 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.44 percent to 12,824.15 points.
