Chinese shares end slightly higher

Chinese equities closed slightly higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 3.03 points, or 0.10 percent, to close at 3,178.61.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 115.19 points, or 0.88 percent, to close at 13,151.

Combined turnover rose to 264.67 billion yuan (US$38.92 billion) from 255.50 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Of the ChiNext market for start-up stocks, only one share out of the total 28 was up.
