China generated 348.5 billion kilowatts of electricity in July, up 4.21 percent year on year, according to figures from the power dispatch center of the State Grid Corporation of China Tuesday.
This was the second consecutive month of electricity generation volume growth and a sign of economic stabilization and a recovery in domestic industrial production, the center said.
China's power generation volume reached 1.64 trillion kilowatts in the first half of this year, declining 1.7 percent over the same period last year, as a result of the slowdown in economic growth.
China's power generation volume rose 3.59 percent year on year in June, ending eight consecutive months of decline since October last year.
